Driver/Furniture Warehouse Support

Position Reports To: ReStore Manager and/or Assistant ReStore Manager

Position Status: Full Time, hourly position.
Tuesday through Sat - 8:00 am - CLOSE
37.5 hours full time

Job Summary: The Driver/Warehouse Support will be responsible for supporting the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity of Horry County by providing excellent customer service and a safe work environment under the directives of the ReStore Manager and within all established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates commitment to Habitats mission.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to provide direction and support to volunteers.
  • Ability to work well and communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish, foster and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and the public.
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work weekends and nights when required.
  • Valid SC drivers license with good driving record required.
  • Must be a Licensed Driver for 5 years required.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75lbs and heavy lifting required.
  • 1 year of Experience preferred in driving large Box Trucks.

Essential Job Functions for Driver:
  1. Completes drop off, delivery and pick up paperwork including donation forms, and receipts for deliveries
  2. Completes scheduled deliveries and pick up in timely and safe manner
  3. Arrives for work promptly and dresses neatly in a Habitat for Humanity shirt
  4. Maintains store property and alerts manager when vehicle needs maintenance
  5. Ensures that merchandise is handled efficiently and with proper care to avoid damage
  6. Operates all equipment in a safe, cost-effective manner
  7. Assists customers in a professional manner
  8. Performs other related duties as required or as manager requests

Driver end of Day Responsibilities:
  1. Fill out truck maintenance book
  2. Clean truck cab- remove all personal items
  3. Unload items from the truck per management
  4. All trash must be put into the proper container or dumpster at end of every business day.
Essential Job Functions for Warehouse:
1. Arrives for work promptly and dresses neatly in a Habitat for Humanity shirt
2. Receives store merchandise and moves to appropriate pricing areas in an efficient and responsible manner
  1. Delivers merchandise to appropriate area on sales floor after it is priced
  2. Removes all sold merchandise from sales floor to the appropriate designated spot
  3. Keeps merchandise organized allowing for as much available floor space as possible
  4. Assists truck drivers as needed with loading and unloading large pick-ups and deliveries
  5. Keeps work area clean and paper work filed
  6. Assists customers in a professional manner
  7. Ensures that merchandise is handled efficiently and with proper care to avoid damage.
  8. Performs other related duties as required or as manager requests

Warehouse Opening Responsibilities:
  1. Store cleaning
  2. Recover- sold items removed from floor, and replaced

  • Clocks in and out to accurately reflect all hours worked
  • Changes to days or hours worked must first be approved by the ReStore Manager and/or Assistant ReStore Manager
  • Work hours and days are subject to change as deemed necessary by the ReStore Manager and/or Assistant ReStore Manager
    This position requires a background and/or security check, annual drivers license review and pre-employment drug test.

The work is performed both in the ReStore and out in the public. Frequent seasonal exposure to the elements throughout every season can be expected.

Must be able to:
Stand or work on concrete floors for prolonged periods of time.
Bend, lift, grasp, reach, push, and pull materials.
Walk and climb on uneven surfaces, ladders, and stairs.
Label, sort, and stock, lift minimum of 75 lbs. and heavier team lifts.
